a terrible interview/faq
a terrible interview/faq
So, tell me, what is this site? What's the point of this?
Y'know, I haven't a clue. I'll be real with you. This site ... was meant to be something of a shrine to a long-gone artist who, a quarter-century ago, got my brain moving with anime women and getting my ass in trouble with system administrators while in high school. It was an homage, a paean, if you will, and now it's kinda where I put my periodic literary thoughts. A lot of my other work stays in other areas. I think, I make flags, hazmat labels, I heckle a skeleton, I deal with old technology, there's just so much I do that this site just won't ever contain it. I pay to have this site and the email and sometimes I've thought of just... letting it all go. Impermanence is the unfortunate aspect of the internet. It's really the way of the universe, as well. Nothing lasts forever.
Wait, you heckle a skeleton? What does that mean, exactly?
There are some forms of entertainment that people haven't quite picked up on. I'd tell you, but I'd have to explain so much, and that's not really what this interview is geared towards. Well, this interview-slash-FAQ.
What are your political beliefs?
Considering there's a logo of two sickles and a hammer, most people are inclined to think I'm some sort of Soviet socialist, but the truth is more mundane. Esthetic choices notwithstanding, I'm a libertarian. Not in the American sense, but the actual sense, an anarcho-socialist or libertarian-socialist.
...Alright. What inspired you to work on this site?
Much the same as the first question, except that, I guess, my art is different from the guy who punted me into the hentai hallway.
Hentai? What?
I suppose I should address this. Yeah... it's true. If it wasn't for hentai, I would not have become politically-minded. There was a big hullabaloo later on where my mom was brought in and they attempted to, like, shame her because of me, because I could regularly get away with getting some color pictures off the network, and so on. Now, the first thing I should clear up a bit, is that I was always into creating languages and dealing with language and what have you; but there's a thing I did when I was still very much in middle school and failing upwards. One of our teachers had us do a project around creating your own country, and you had to get in-depth with it a bit. I did mine; I think I got like a C- on that. It's been well over 20 years, expecting me to remember the details, is like expecting me to remember names of people I've met but once.
Thinking back, I was not the type of kid who shied away from the prurient details of the internet then, and because it was still fresh and new in the late 90s and early 00s, I was also keenly aware of filtering programs. I learned early on, also, to never trust anything on the internet fully. Thanks to the librarian at the time, hope she's doing well in retirement. There was always a lot of cat-and-mouse with sysadmins and blocking at the time; there was a time where all email was banned in my school except for the school email system, which you had to apply for. I did no such thing. I knew where the color printers were, I worked my magic, and by god, I am here.
So I see you're really into that uh, cartoon porn. What really made you a socialist, or a libertarian, or whatever?
A deep understanding of poverty. An eye for the equitable, and deep anger for constant failures. I've eaten the tribal assistance food, I've dealt with bureaucracy, I know what it is like to pinch pennies, I know what it's like to be able to afford foods of comfort. My family was almost rich once. I know what it is like to work, and what it is like to not have work. So often, we are told that we are the richest country on earth, yet we have so little in the way of meaningful choices. Our government chooses to bomb poor brown people with taxpayer money, rather than feed others. "It's not our responsibility!" is the excuse; a tacit admission that inhumanity deserves more weight to government. The obscene asociality of the representatives and leaders who draw free healthcare and pensions, and the private individuals who curry their influence to tailor laws for them and against the rest of us, are part and parcel of why I'm a libertarian socialist.
But you're just jealous of rich people because you don't work!
I am not jealous of rich people. Some could be envious, but I don't want what they have. And, whether I work or not is none of your concern.
You just want billionaires to suffer, they put in the work you don't do!
I want them to suffer? I want them to suffer... Okay, let's roll with that for a moment. Suppose I do. What, then? There's an entire laundry list of factual, verifiable things billionaires have done, and are continuing to do, that causes suffering — not just for me, but for millions, if not billions of other people. Billionaires do not do hard work. They simply don't. Look at most of them; they are out of shape, out of touch, characterless resource hoarders. Elon looks like a tub of lard, Bezos is some old fuck, and the thief-in-chief falls asleep at the slightest provocation. Mark Zuckerberg looks like a gormless twat; and all of them have in manifold ways caused irreparable damage to the human psyche and the planet. They don't work. They're parasites. They're smart parasites who make deals, eat outrageous lunches, go golfing, influence others, and then come home to do what, nothing? Take a look around you.
But they're job creators and innovators! Don't talk shit about YOUR president!
No. If anything, they are job destroyers and re-inventors of the wheel. They don't do anything new except find ways to make life harder. They cut jobs as they rake in more profits. They give endless excuses, and by law they have to follow the shareholders' will, whatever it may be. They don't give people choices except in how they wish to be exploited further. And, fuck the president. He is avarice, wrath, and gluttony personified. He's poshlost. And not only that, a rapist and a pedophile in ways that other pedophiles go "whoa, stand back". I didn't ever vote for him. Not in 2016, not in 2020, and definitely not in 2024.
So you hate Trump, got it.
Not for the perceived veneer of reasons that you push on liberals, no. And I'm not a liberal. As much as I despise the idea of electoralism, it is but slightly better than defeatism and letting jackbooted thugs take my one vote away. I hate Trump because he made anti-intellectualism and racism and bigotry acceptable. Acceptable to the government, acceptable to the masses. On top of that, he's made pedophilia more acceptable too, especially to his party. You're defined by the company you keep, and since he repeatedly tries to swat away the Epstein files and their implications, he is the single most guilty party imaginable.
Okay, fine, you're a sort-of commie. I get it.
No, you clearly don't get it. You don't get what I'm about. See, I am about rights and privileges, expanding and maintaining them. And right now we are in the midst of those privileges being completely erased. Not just for you, but for everyone. If you read your constitution you'd know those are the hardest lines to change. Oh, it does take time for change. But so many people, people like yourselves, always push back, always want us dragged back to when rights were not just unobtainable, but impossible to change.
The Supreme Court has been giving paid victories to an executive branch that doesn't deserve them. The freedoms of speech, religion, expression, conscience, association, the right to a fair and speedy trial, the pursuit of happiness, the right be secure in one's home and effects, the right to presumption of innocence, the right to live exactly as one sees fit, those are some of the ones you've been taking away. When it comes to trans people, you want them erased. You call them what they ain't. You mandate an idea of only two sexes. You pass laws telling them they can exist in certain government-approved ways. You call them degenerates, rapists, child mutilators, and molesters. And if that wasn't enough for you, you mandate what places they can enter, what bathrooms they can use, what papers they can and can't have, and then when they run afoul of the law, you stick them with the most violent criminals to rape them into what you say they should be!
B-but—
—You want the homeless rounded up and institutionalized, because the government painted them all as drug addicts who refuse help and want to live on the streets. You want certain opinions punished because you can't handle the fact that you're on the wrong side of everything, so you take people off the air because your dear leader can't handle jokes from TV hosts.
You send thugs to round up 'illegals' illegally and without any oversight, because they get paid for each person in detention. You persistently try to garner the white evangelicals to your side with trying to root out 'anti-Christian' bias in the government. Never mind the fact that religion has never had a place within government, but yet you try to push revisionist history onto the masses. You give governance over to corporations and techno-geeks, and let them thieve, connive, and spoil the lands and parks we save, just for a little more money, just for a little more owning the other party. The truth has never mattered less to you types than it does now. You spit on it, abuse it, and walk all over it. You're about conformity to a standard that never existed.
You don't want universal healthcare, but you will push for bombing brown people and making life miserable at home. You don't want mothers with children, you just want babies being born. You piss and moan about "DEI" and "wokeness" to the point that it makes me puke. 'Diversity', 'equity', and 'inclusion' were words that you took and twisted to mean "anti-white", when there was never such a thing. White people are the fucking majority in this country, and it wasn't enough for you. All this has ever been was smoke and mirrors to cement a long-standing struggle of the rich white people to create an order in which they could never be dethroned. And you have the gall, the temerity, the balls, to say that you are for freedom? That you love the constitution? Is that what you're trying to tell me right now?
...
Yeah, just sit there and shut your mouth. This interview's over.
⸻⁂⸻ ⸻⁂⸻ ⸻⁂⸻ ⸻⁂⸻
I know some history, even if I don't remember it all. That's the ultimate problem... people who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it. The truth of the matter is that the system is not broken - the purpose of a system is what it does, and that is strictly speaking. The history we are taught is flawed, precisely because the people who write it and promote it have vested interests in keeping it that way.
Every decree and statement and judgement against the rights and privileges of people to be themselves, to express their feelings, their conscience, their affinity, is an affront that demands answers. A government that cannot maintain accountability, no longer has it. An injury to one is an injury to all. And in a state where injuries are common and justice is purposefully delayed, is then also justice denied.
A state such as ours in the present time cannot last without a critical mass in contradictions being reached, and for the point of it being a "post-truth" political society, I am not sure how things will proceed. I will not say that this site is centered around "my truth". I only have that which I know and can demonstrate, and that's about all I am equipped with. I had hoped for a proper FAQ, but, as you can tell...
'Ask questions, demand answers' ought to be "ask hard questions, demand hard answers".
